About Carmen
“Be the change you want to see in the world” —Mahatma Gandhi
Continuing in the footsteps of my grandfather, a homeopath who lived and studied with Carl Jung, I have been passionately involved in Healing Arts and Education for over 30 years.
I began with Tai Chi at the age of twelve, becoming a lifelong student of Asian Healing Arts. In 1981, I set up practice as a licensed Massage Practitioner and was soon trained in the use of the Bach Flower Remedies and Polarity Therapy while living at the Alive Polarity Institute.
I began my Acutonics training in 2001 with Donna Carey and Marjorie de Muynck, founders of the Acutonics Healing System, and have remained closely connected to the Acutonics Institute of Integrative Medicine over the past twenty years. I make regular sojourns to the ‘Mothership’ to stay aligned with the growth and development of the Acutonics® Program and curriculum, as well as to continue my private mentorship with Donna Carey.
In 2005, I completed my Acutonics Teacher’s training and went on to become a graduate of the Asian Healing Arts & Whole Foods Nutrition Program at the Heartwood Institute in Northern California, where I studied and later taught Heart Mind Shiatsu and Five Elements theory.
With a history of accomplishments as a Montessori teacher and celebrated creative arts educational programs for children, I bring my passion for teaching into my current Healing Arts Classes, along with my practice in creating ritual and ceremony inspired by my involvement in shamanistic studies.
As a mother of four beautiful children, I now live and practice on Lopez Island, Washington.
My Philosophy
As an Acutonics teacher, I believe in the power of community and connectedness, where creativity and wisdom intertwine to foster profound healing. I am passionate about preserving the integrity of this ancient practice while integrating it with modern holistic therapies.
Through sound healing, I strive to create a balanced and nurturing environment where each individual can experience the full spectrum of health and well-being.
My approach is rooted in the passion I bring to my teaching, ensuring that the essence of this sacred work is honored and passed on with care.
